Remote, Contactless, Summer Vintage Lockdown photo shoot, Bexhill, Sussex.

Back in May Lauren from Lauren Beth Photography asked if I'd like to be part of lockdown photo shoot. The brief was Summertime vintage, in an English country garden, taking inspiration for the colour of the flowers of the season, peach, cream and sage green. With still with no idea when weddings would be safely allowed to return it’s lovely to be part of something creative. I set about gathering a selection of vintage tableware from my collection in those tones and with floral designs. My handmade vintage floral napkins were also perfect for the brief. It was really important to us and the other suppliers to stay within the Government guidelines and the shoot was safe, contactless. Lauren set up the shoot in the gardens at the Manor Barn in Bexhill with a few styling tips from me.

Remote, Contactless, Inspirational Bell Tent Lockdown photoshoot, Eastbourne, Sussex.

Back in April Elise from Beneath the Canopy asked if I'd like to be part of a little lockdown project. A styled shoot to give inspiration to lovely couples who are trying to plan their wedding during the pandemic and something that would give us wedding suppliers a little creative thing to do as we sadly had no weddings to work on. It was really important to us to stay within the Government guidelines and the shoot was safe, contactless and any journey made was made during daily exercise or on route to the essential food shop! Elise set up the shoot in her garden, with a few styling tips from me over face time along with some technical directions from the talented photographers.

It was so lovely to be part of and to awaken those creative juices again during those crazy first weeks of lockdown.

There were three looks created throughout the day, a colouful, vintage afternoon tea tent that also doubled as a cute teddy bears picnic, a bright, rainbow festival style tent that was a school of rock theme and in the evening a romantic boho luxe dinner for two.

This shoot was featured on Festival Brides blog. The images below are all captured by Elise, The day time afternoon tea images are edited by Katie Rogers Photography. The evening boho style images are edited by Wild Meadow Photography.

PASTEL RAINBOW INSPIRED VINTAGE SAME SEX WEDDING STYLED PHOTO SHOOT IN PATTERNS, BRIGHTON, SUSSEX

I was asked by the amazing Stephanie Dreams Photography to help her create a pastel rainbow same sex wedding shoot. I jumped at the chance to be part of this fun, colourful shoot that was centered around love and to help more LGBTQ+ couples become visible in the wedding industry. It was a pleasure to work with the stunning couple Whitney and Megan, their love for each other shone out and it made this shoot even more special.

Stephanie drew her inspiration from the rainbow veil, so I picked out pieces of vintage furniture collection in pastel tones, to create a fun sweet gazing cake table. I bought lot of cute pastel coloured biscuits and pic n’ mix sweets which I styled with the cake makers delicious creations.

The ceremony space was styled with my boudoir chairs and copper arch, which was dressed with ribbons and vintage fabrics in pastel tones. Going on to create a sweet heart table for our couple which was beautifully over the top with vintage chintz fabric tables linen pastel flower dinner plates and a rainbow gyp garland created by the florist. All of this was framed by the stunning window hung with vintage lampshades.

AUTUMN INSPIRED VINTAGE BOHEMIAN LUXURY WEDDING STYLED PHOTO SHOOT IN THE cherry Barn, Rye, SUSSEX

I was asked by the amazing ladies at Inclusive Events to help them create an Autumn wedding shoot. I took my inspiration for the colour palette from nature. using burgundy, green and burnt earthy brown tones. I created centrepieces in my earthenware bottles using dried seed heads, wheat, barley and dried grasses. With the help of some dried foliage at the venue I added pops of colour to the table garland by weaving in dried hydrangea heads and season fruits such as the deep purple coloured figs, grapes and pears. I chose a collection of tableware that worked with the Autumnal tones, vintage dinner plates with botanical designs, brass and cut glass candle sticks and beautiful vintage glassware that would sparkle in the candle light.

The look created had a formal and refined feel, but it still retained some laid-back vintage bohemian styling by bringing nature inside the beautiful barn with the use of with seasonal fruit, foraged foliage and dried flowers against the beautiful wooden interior of the Cherry Barn.

AUTUMN INSPIRED VINTAGE BOHEMIAN LUXURY WEDDING STYLED PHOTOSHOOT IN THE FOLLEY, HERSTMONCEUX, SUSSEX

My vision for the Autumn wedding shoot was to create two different wedding styles but for both to draw inspiration for their colour palette from nature. One look that reflected a relaxed laid-back bohemian feel by embracing natural light and with the use of a woodland backdrop but that still retained hints of elegance and luxury using vintage props and in the styling. The other look has a more formal and refined feel by using the interior of the Folley as its back drop, but to still retain some of the laid-back vintage bohemian styling by bringing nature inside with the use of with seasonal fruit, foraged foliage and flowers.

Spring Inspired Vintage wedding proposal styled photoshoot In Stonehill farm, Horam, Sussex

I just love watching nature begin to wake up and come to life after the long cold Winter. The leaves starting to appear on the trees and colourful flowers starting to push their way through the ground. To me it is a magical time of new beginnings and romance the perfect season for an outdoor marriage proposal!

The shoot was inspired by the idea I had of a marriage proposal for a vintage loving Bride to be. I was thinking about a Fiancé who really understands his Fiancées sense of style, her love of colours and vintage styling. He embraces her creativity by planning this unique proposal. I wanted to create a story behind the shoot, a couple taking a romantic stroll in the beautiful countryside here in Sussex. On a sunny Sunday morning in Spring they have a favourite spot they like to visit with stunning views across the South downs. Our Fiancé would take his lady by surprise and drop down to one knee, popping the question with a beautiful antique ring in a personalised velvet ring box while they walked through the orchards. I had visions of the Fiancé excitedly leading his stunned Fiancée further up the hill where they discover a little vintage living room set up in the field. The living room would be the couples own romantic and comfortable space, complete with bubbles cooling in a bucket and a bohemian grazing platter almost too pretty to eat. There for them to celebrate, to snuggle up reminiscing about their past and excitedly thinking ahead to their future together.

Elsies Attic, Celebration of women Photo shoot May 2018

I was lucky enough to be invited by the fabulous Amanda, owner of the clothing and lifestyle brand Elsie’s Attic to add some fun, colourful vintage tea party vibes to her Celebration of Women photo shoot.

I had the most amazing time as part of the all female team and celebrating talented, beautiful women in every shape and size.

The photo shoot was featured on the Elsie’s Attic blog

"Then we needed a venue . . . we are lucky enough to be based on the edge of the Vale of Belvoir in the beautiful Nottinghamshire countryside so we thought we would use one of the quaint village halls near us and draw on those vintage vibes . . . . can’t beat the smell of the old wooden floors – like being back at school! Although the venue was great – it really was just a blank canvas . . . so along came the super duper event stylist, Betty Loves Vintage to transform the venue into a magical set up for the shoot! If you are getting married or running an event, you need Helen from Betty Loves Vintage, and her amazing array of props. " Amanda Johnson, Owner of Elsie’s Attic
